I wanted to tell you a little
about how this extra chapter came to be.
Whenever I’m editing a story, there’s always material that I love, but have to cut; it’s probably one of the toughest, and most painful parts of an author’s craft. Some years back I learned to save those bits in an ‘extra’ file. And The Box Keeper had a pretty rich one.
As I thought about what would be a meaningful ‘thank you’ to readers for spending their time on The Box Keeper, and for subscribing to the newsletter, I began to peruse that extra file. And before long, I knew what I wanted to give you.
How the Lord works is amazing! He alone can take the things we think aren’t as important and do something wonderful with them. There was some great material cut from the main story because it just didn’t fit – so I’m very excited that it found a home in this bonus chapter.
Well…you should’ve received your email by now. After my wife read it she looked at me and smiled and said, “That was such a fulfilling chapter.” I hope that it adds to the experience of The Box Keeper, and enriches Nick’s character. Thanks again!
