Scripture through Story – that’s my mission.

No matter what you read of mine, you can count on 2 things: it will be packed with spiritual truths, and, like any story worth your time, it will be wildly creative. There’s just no other way I know to craft a tale!

Keep reading to learn a little about my writing journey.

my tale

I’ve long enjoyed a passion for sharing Scripture through story. My first attempts were several full-length screenplays ranging from fantasy to comedy. After hundreds, and yet hundreds more query letters and rejections, I came to a realization, The best films are based on books. After eight years of research, re-writing, and wrestling with God, I finished my first novel in 2016. And it was a beast!

After putting that historical fiction novel on Amazon, I quickly realized I had no way of connecting with those readers that were actually downloading it. As excited as I was to have a book out there, I knew I was missing something. So I took it down a month later with the plan to learn the business side of being an author; I was supposed to put it back up a year later…which never happened. And that’s how life goes.

Another three years of ups, downs, learning, and doubts finally led to the release of The Box Keeper, the first of The Parable Lands tales; a collection of allegories designed to pack a spiritual wallop and be read in just a couple of hours. I’m so thankful for the journey the Lord has taken my writing on…I’m a better man for it, and much better at the art of crafting a good tale.

Home is way out in the sticks in Arkansas with my amazing wife where we embrace the daily excitements of raising ten kiddos. I work an 8-5, write late at night, and most importantly, try to keep my eyes fixed on the Lord through it all.

It’s a busy life…it’s a rewarding life.

And one day, I hope to have time to re-publish that first novel!
